Note: Son of Charles III of Spain and husband of Maria Carolina of Austria. Noted for, as Ferdinand IV of Naples, leading his kingdom in its fight against the French Revolution and its liberal ideas. He was greatly influenced by his wife, Maria Carolina of Austria, who furthered the policy of her favorite adviser, the Englishman Sir John Acton.
