Fortier, François Alphonse (French photographer, 1825-1882)
|
Note: In 1840, Fortier worked with Louis Jacques Mandé Daguerre, inventor of the daguerreotype, in Paris. He learned to produce daguerreotypes and began to experiment with methods to improve them. In 1851, Fortier was a founding member of the Société française de photographie in Paris. Also in 1851, Blanquart-Evrard published some of his photographs in his photographic books "Album Photographiques de l'Artiste et de l'Amateur". In 1853, Blanquart-Evrard published architectural views by Fortier in "Souvenirs Photographiques" and "Monuments de Paris". In 1854, Fortier was a founding member of the Société française de photographie, Paris. Foriter was active in Paris, Lyon, and Blois (France), 1840-1850s. |
