Note: American banker and businessman, described as one of the oldest residents of Brooklyn. He was born in Brooklyn on January 29, 1829. His father, Cyrus Porter Smith, was the fourth mayor of Brooklyn. Bryan H. Smith worked in the wool commission industry and eventually became the President of the Brooklyn Savings Bank. He was also a trustee of the Packer Collegiate Institute, the Brooklyn Hospital, the First Presbyterian Church, and was the director of the Union Ferry Company. He died at his home, 79 Pierrepoint Street, on March 27, 1912.
