Note: Gamarra studied at the Escola de Belas Artes (School of Fine Arts) in Montevideo. He studied engraving with Friedlaender at the Museu de Arte Moderna of Rio de Janeiro and with Iberê Camargo at the Instituto de Belas Artes da Guanabara (Institute of Fine Arts). His works present historical themes about the social reality of Latin America, especially Brazil. |
