Note: A prominent member of a well-known family of 16th century Italian patrons, Giovanni Alvise supported Andrea Palladio's design for the loggia of the Palazzo della Regione in Vicenza (1549). After his death, Giovanni Alvise's widow commissioned Palladio once again for the building of the Palazzo Valmarana (1565-1571), also in Vicenza. Italian patron of Palladio in Vicenza. |
