'Ali (Persian potter, active ca. 1242-1265)
|
Note: 'Ali worked on a large mihrab (1242) at Meshed and another one at Gurgan. During the 1260s, 'Ali's career experienced flourished as a direct result of the revival of the Kashan Potteries. He created a number of stars and crosses that were put in dado panels. Another mihrab (1265) attributed to a later period in his career is at the Imamzada Yahya in Varamin. He was the only luster potter in this period to sign his wares. |
