Note: Marianne Mehling (200) indicates that Agostino Righetto rebuilt S. Maria Assunta in Padua, Italy, with Andrea Da Valle in 1552. Thieme-Becker indicates that Andrea Da Valle and Iacopo Sansovino won the competition for the rebuilding of the cathedral in 1547 but that the construction was interrupted when his and Sansovino's design was rejected. The work resumed in 1552 based on a plan by Michelangelo and was carried out by Righetto and Da Valle. |
