Note: Helen Spitzer, born in Salesia, married Frederick in the 1930s. They collected art in Europe before coming to New York in 1941. She became an avant-garde modern art dealer and specialized in early 20th c. European art with a gallery on the Upper East Side (La Boetie, Inc.). The Sergers donated their private art collection to the Met and other museums
