|
Note: A leading historian of French Gothic art and culture; he was also one of the foremost scholars of Latin Crusader culture. The St. Louis Psalter in the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris was a particularly passionate area of study for him and he became its leading expert. He was also known as an inspiring and dedicated professor at the University of California, Berkeley. |
