Chauveau, René (French sculptor, 1663-1722)
|
Note: Chaveau was the son of a well-regarded engraver. He studied with Giradon and Philippe Caffieri and worked as sculptor for Louis XIV's buildings projects. In 1693 he moved to Stockholm as sculptor to the king. He stayed in Sweden until 1700, when he returned to France working mainly in the provinces. |
