Hamilton, Richard (English painter, printmaker, and designer, 1922-2011)

Note: Perhaps best-known for his 1956 collage 'Just What Is It that Makes Today's Homes So Different, So Appealing?', often referred to as the first example of Pop art. Hamilton also acted as curator of a major retrospective of Marcel Duchamp's work at the Tate Gallery in 1966, and edited a typographic version of that artist's "Green Box." He worked in a wide variety of media and designed the cover of The Beatles' "white" album, released in 1968.
