Worms, Bertha (French-Brazilian portraitist, designer, and teacher, 1868-1937)

Note: French-Brazilian portraitist, designer and teacher. She obtained a drawing teacher degree in 1885. She exhibited her early works at the Deuxième Exposition de Blanc et Noir, 1888, and at the Exposition des Beaux-Arts de la Société des Artistes Français, 1890. In 1892, she moved to Brazil where she took part of exhibitions such as the 2nd e 3rd Exposições Gerais de Belas Artes, and also held individual exhibitions. She became known for her portraits with realistic features with almost documentary aspects, but she also worked with gendre scenes, still-lifes, and made landscapes.
