Eberlein, Johann Friedrich (German porcelain modeler and sculptor, 1696-1749)
|
Note: Eberlein trained as a caster and carver in England. He later joined the Meissen Porcelain Factory in 1735 as principal assistant to the Modellmeister Johann Joachim Kändler. Together they collaborated on the 'Schwanenservice' (1737-1741) for Heinrich, Graf von Brühl. He also modelled his own creations, the most successful of which were the series of Classical gods and goddesses on High Baroque socles (ca. 1747). Due to his close working relationship with Kändler, it can be difficult to distinguish their work. |
