Note: Dalmáu's visit to Bruges in 1431 to study tapestry weaving was the first recorded contact of a Spanish painter with the Netherlandish school. Dalmau's only surviving painting, the 'Virgin of the Councillors' of 1445, is obviously inspired by Jan van Eyck.
