Absolon, William (English ceramic and glass painter, 1751-1815)

Note: Absolon was an independent painter of pottery active in Yarmouth from 1790 where he painted flowers, landscapes, heraldic achievements, and other motifs on cream-colored earthenware from the Staffordshire and Leeds potteries. He also decorated glass. Many of his works are signed with a painted arrow. There is a notable collection of his work at the Norwich Castle Museum.
