Valentine & Sons (Scottish photography studio, founded ca. 1870)
|
Note: Scotland's second largest photographic establishment was founded by James Valentine (1815-1880). It was probably established in 1880, with Valentine dying in the same year. The firm was then carried on by Valentine's sons, W. D. and George D. One source indicates that Valentine & Sons was still active in 1969. The firm of Valentine & Sons specialized in stereoviews, mostly of Scotland and England, and by 1906 the firm had added scenic postcards to their production. |
