Barbosa, Mário Villares (Brazilian painter, 1880-1917)

Note: Born in Campinas, he moved to São Paulo where, with his brother, started studies with Oscar Pereira da Silva at the Liceu de Artes e Ofícios. Together with his brother, he moved to Paris in 1901, where he studied at the Académie Julian and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Died in 1917 and, posthumously, in 1921, he received the silver medal of the Salon des Artistes Français. |

| Portuguese ..... Pintor paisagista. Nascido em Campinas, mudou-se para São Paulo onde, juntamente com seu irmão, iniciou seus estudos com Oscar Pereira da Silva no Liceu de Artes e Ofícios. Em companhia do irmão, mudou-se para Paris em 1901, onde estudou na Académie Julian e na École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Falece em 1917 e, postumamente, em 1921, recebe medalha de prata do Salon des Artistes Français. |
