Ream, Vinnie (American sculptor, 1847-1914)

Note: Ream is best known for her sculpture of the standing figure of Abraham Lincoln that is in the rotunda of the United States Capitol building, Washington, D.C. This was the first commission granted to a female artist by the federal government. She received it when she was 18 years old. Ream created many portraits of prominent statesmen and soldiers throughout her career.
