Note: David Clyde Driskell is an African-American painter born in Georgia whose painting are influenced by his experience as a visting professor at the University of Ife in Nigeria. An exhibition he curated at LACMA in 1976 is regarded as a landmark in the study of black artists and their role in American art history. |
