Page, Robin (English painter and performance artist, 1932-2015)
|
Note: Born in England, his family moved to Canada, where Page lived until he was 27 years old. Page was an early proponent of the Fluxus movement in England. By 1962, he was working in a milieu that included other artists such as Dieter Roth and Dorothy Iannone. Page staged his own happening at the Institute of Contemporary Arts’ Festival of Misfits in London, 1966. He was a professor at Leeds College of Art beginning in 1965, and founded a short-lived movement called Jape Art. Later, he moved to Germany, becoming a professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. |
