Note: A painter of fish plates. One of the two successors of the workshop of Asteas and Python, the other being the Painter of Naples 2585. The Painter of Naples 1778 was more strongly influenced by the Laghetto and Caivano Painters and by the Painter of B. M. F63.

Il s'agit d'un peintre de plats à poisson, et un des deux successeurs de l'atelier d'Asteas et de Python (l'autre étant le peintre de Naples 2585). Le peintre de Naples 1778 était par ailleurs fortement influencé par le peintre de Laghetto et celui de Caivano, ainsi que par le Peintre du B.M.F 63.
