Charles III, King of Spain (Spanish king, 1716-1788)
|
Note: Son of Philip V of Spain, eldest by his second wife, Elisabeta Farnese. King of Spain (1759-1788) and king of Naples (as Charles VII, 1734-1759). In 1731, the 15-year-old Charles became the Duke of Parma and Piacenza, as Charles I, on the death of his childless grand-uncle Antonio Farnese. He married and had 13 children with Princess Maria Amalia of Saxony, an educated, cultured woman. |
