Note: A New York art gallery specializing in Surrealist art, photography, and experimental film. Artists with solo exhibitions at the gallery included, among others, Arshille Gorky, Joseph Cornell, Man Ray, Frida Kahlo, Rene Magrette, Max Ernst, Dorothea Tanning, and Alberto Giacometti. The gallery opened its doors at 602 Madison Avenue, in 1937, moved to 15 East 57th Street, and in 1943, relocated again to 42 East 57th, where the gallery remained until it closed in 1949.
