Note: Merchant, founded the firm L.E. Amsinck and Co. in New York City. He came to New York in the mid-1840s to start this firm in the United States. Firm renamed G. Amsinck after his brother Gustav joined. Operated as Merchant Banker and were among the founder's of today's CommerceBank. 1874 Erdwin returned to Hamburg. Collector of art, which he donated to Museum of Ethnology in Hamburg, and to Hamburger Kunsthalle. Married, but childless.
