Vecsei, Eva (Hungarian architect, born 1930, active in Canada)
|
Note: Eva Vecsei was born in Austria on 21 August 1930 to parents of Hungarian descent. She received her degree from the School of Architecture at the University of Technical School in Budapest in 1952. She remained at the school as an Assistant Professor from 1952 to 1953. She was an architect at the Architectural Institute of Residential Design in Budapest from 1953 to 1956. She emigrated to Canada in 1957 and was naturalized in 1962. From 1958 to 1970 she was a Design Developer and Associate at Affleck, Desbarats, Dimakopoulos, Lebensold, Size in Montreal. From 1970 to 1973, she was an Associate at Dimitri Dimakopoulos, Architect in Montreal. In 1973 she opened her own practice and was the principal architect of Eva H. Vecsei, Architect in Montreal until 1976. She then formed a partnership called Eva Vecsei-Dan Hanganu, Montreal until 1977. The following year, she returned to her own practice, Eva H. Vecsei, Architect, until 1984. Since 1984, she has been a principal of Vecsei Architects, with her husband, Andrew Vecsei. She is the mother of Andrea Vecsei, architect. Canadian architect. |
