Alexandrino, Pedro (Brazilian painter, decorator, and designer, 1856-1942)
|
Note: Pedro Alexandrino was a student of the painter Alemida Júnior, he also studied at the Escola Nacional de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro, as well as in Paris, to where he travaled on na art grant from the São Paulo State Government in 1896.The most significant part of his production is dedicated to the still life genre, and is known for its skillful rendering of reflections and textures of materials such as metal, porcelain and vegetal matter (flowers and fruits). He was also a teacher of painting and drawing, whose students including the artist Tarsila do Amaral and Anota Malfatti. |
