Note: Born 3 April 1828; died 14 March 1883. Ufer was a German engraver who settled in Rome, Italy, ca. 1850. Ufer photographed the city of Rome, the Roman campagna, members of the Nazarene Brotherhood, and German artists working in Rome. In 1871, Ufer relinquished his photographic studio in Rome to the photographer Michele Mang. |
