Barois, François (French sculptor, 1656-1726)
|
Note: Barois was a French sculptor to Louis XIV. He studied at the 'Académie Royale,' Paris and the 'Académie de France,' Rome. From 1686 to 1709 Barois worked for the 'Bâtiments du Roi.' His fluid, dramatic style anticipates the high rococo of the mid-18th century. |
