Note: João Atanásio studied paiting at the Escola de Artes Visuais Parque Lage and printmaking at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica in the 1980s. At first, his career was based on his interest for pratical and theoretical questions in printmaking. Today, a recurrent aspect of his artworks is the use of a wide range of procedures. in his research he incorporatesm traditional techniques as well as alternative processes, ofeten uding unusual materials in the creation of surprising objects. |
