Note: Pioneering street artist acknowledged as the first to perfect the “softie” style of aerosol calligraphy, characterized by its marshmallow-like bubbled lettering. He was an early member of United Graffiti Artists (UGA), a collective credited with mounting the first gallery show of 'graffiti art,' a term he rejected, though it recurs in relation to his work frequently. He was an active part of early Hip-Hop culture in New York City, active as a DJ, rapped, and belonged to a break-dance crew, The New York City Breakers. |
