Henry, Pierre (French composer and sound artist, 1927-2017)

Note: Henry was known as one of the pioneers of musique concrète. He began experimenting with producing sounds from ordinary objects at the age of 15, and from 1938 to 1948, he studied at the Paris Conservatoire alongside Nadia Boulanger and Olivier Messiaen. He later worked in collaboration with Pierre Schaeffer 1949-1958 at the Club d'Essai studio at Radiodiffusion et Télévision Française, which had been founded by Schaeffer in 1943.
