Elizabeth of Hungary, Saint (German princess, saint, 1207-1231)

Note: Born in Sárospatak or Pressburg (now Bratislava). Daughter of King Andrew II of Hungary (1205-1235) and his wife Gertrude, a member of the family of the Counts of Andechs-Meran; she was a princess of the Kingdom of Hungary. Venerated as a saint who was patroness to the Third Order of St. Francis. Elizabeth was married at the age of 14, and widowed at 20, when she gave up her children, and died at 24.
