Westwood, Vivienne (English fashion designer and activist, 1941-2022)
|
Note: Known for her radical takes on fashion, beginning in the 1970s. She dressed the Sex Pistols in her take on a punk wardrobe. Later she became known for her updates of historical costume. She eventually built a fashion empire comprising two menswear lines, three womenswear lines, and accessories and perfumes. She was awarded a damehood in 2006 for her services to fashion, and was an active participant in environmental and other causes. |
