Lerner, Abram (American museum director and painter, 1913-2007)
|
Note: Lerner was the first director of the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., a position he occupied for 10 years. Lerner studied art history at New York University, was an apprentice muralist for the WPA, studied art in Europe, and established himself as a painter in the late 1950s. He resumed painting in the late 1980s. |
