Baldini, Umberto (Italian art historian and restorer, 1921-2006)
|
Note: Director of conservation at the Uffizi Gallery until 1983, when he was named director of the Istituto Centrale per il Restauro, Rome. He led a large restoration project after a 1966 flood at the Uffizi, and later headed the restoration of Masaccio frescoes at the Carmine Church, Florence. Authored and co-authored many books on Italian art. |
