Brambila, Fernando (Italian painter and graphic artist, 1763-1842, active in Spain)
|
Note: He was probably born in or near Fara di Gera d'Adda, Bergamo, Lombardy. He studied painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Brera, Milan. He accompanied Alex Malaspina (1789-1794) on a scientific expedition, during which he created landscapes of the Malvinas, towns in Argentina, and other places. He then went to Spain, where he collaborated on various engravings based on his drawings. He was appointed as the royal Pintor de Cámara and held other official positions in Spain until his death.
