Note: Allegrain was a French sculptor who worked in the shadow of his brother-in-law, Jean-Baptiste Pigalle. His greatest achievement was his 1767 'La Baigneuse' commissioned for the Marquis de Marigny but ultimately given by Louis XV to Mme Du Barry.
