Cordeiro, Waldemar (Brazilian sculptor and theorist, 1925-1973)

Note: Lived in Rome until 1945, and studied at the School of Fine Arts. Settled in São Paulo, Brazil, 1946, and founded the 'ruptura' group (1952), becoming the most important figure in the Concrete art movement in that city. In the mid-1960s he created a series of objects called 'popcretos' while also working professionally as a landscape designer.
