Arkesilaos (Greek sculptor, active mid-1st century BCE)
|
Note: According to Pliny, Arkesilaos was one of the greatest sculptors of his time. His most famous work is the cult statue at Julius Caesar's Temple of Venus Genetrix, dedicated ca. 46 BCE. However, it is possible that the statue has been rebuilt several times since. |
