Fuchs, Ernst (Austrian painter and graphic artist, 1930-2015)

Note: Considered to be the best-known representative of Fantastic Realism. He co-founded the Pintorarium with Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Arnulf Rainer. In 1972 he acquired the Otto Wagner Villa in Hütteldorf and turned it into the Ernst Fuchs Museum. The State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg mounted a retrospective in 1993. His work is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 2010 he received the Golden Medal of Honor for his services to the city of Vienna.
