Benš, Adolf (Czech architect, 1894-1982)
|
Note: Functionalist architect attended the Prague Technical University from 1913 until 1914, when he was conscripted for war service. He resumed his studies at the Technical University in 1918, and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague from 1921-1924. He worked in the office of Josef Gočár in 1924, and in 1925 established his own office in Prague. In 1924 he acted as editor of the magazine Stavitel. In 1930 he became a member of the Left Front, and in 1931, the Mánes Association of Plastic Artists. He served as professor of architecture at the Prague School of Decorative Arts from 1945 until 1968. Czechoslokakian architect. |
