Note: Karinger studied landscape painting at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunste, Vienna, portrait painting at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunste, Munich, and architectural rendering at a private school of Albert Emil Kirchner. As a member of the Austrian army, he painted landscapes, military, and genre subjects in northern Italy, Dalmatia, Montenegro and Albania. He was later the president of the Osterreichischer Kunstlerverein in Ljubljana. He is known for Romantic landscapes inspired by scenes in Slovenia, Carinthia, Bavaria and the Tyrol. |
