Stone, John Benjamin (English photographer, 1838-1914)
|
Note: Born 9 February 1838; died 2 July 1914. Stone was most active as a photographer from 1890 to 1910, when he was interested in creating photographic documentation of his era. In 1897 Stone began to use the platinotype process, and in 1888 he employed two photographers to develop and print his negatives. In 1897 Stone founded the National Photographic Record Association; he acted as president until 1910. Stone travelled to Constantinople, Turkey in 1908. |
