Note: Fetherstonhaugh took up the practice of architecture soon after his graduation from McGill University in Montréal, in 1909. He was in private practice with Fetherstonhaugh & McDougall (1913-1923), as H.L. Fetherstonhaugh (1922-1934), then with Fetherstonhaugh & Durnford, Architects (1934-1945), and Fetherstonhaugh, Durnford, Bolton & Chadwick, Architects (1946-1954). He also worked with Thomas Henry Mace. During World War I, Fetherstonhaugh served as lieutenant in the Canadian Field Artillery. Fetherstonhaugh practiced under his own name, H.L. Fetherstonhaugh, from 1922 to 1934. Fetherstonhaugh acted as an associate architect with Ross & Macdonald on the design for Château Apartments, Montréal, Québec (1924-1926). Fetherstonhaugh was a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Canadian architect.
