Lumière Frères (French photography studio and chemists, established 1883)
|
Note: It is not known whether "Lumière Frères" was a business partnership or a loose collaboration. From 1887 onwards Lumière Frères experimented with many photographic processes. In 1894, Louis Lumière began experimenting with animated images, and in 1895 Lumière Frères opened their "Cinématographe" theatre in Paris. In 1905, the Lumière brothers obtained colored positive prints. Lumière Frères marketed the autochrome process in 1907. |
