Ruys, Mien (Dutch landscape architect, born 1904)
|
Note: Mien Ruys joined the "8 en Ophouw" on the urban design project for the village of Nagele in Noordstpolder. The project took place either between 1945 and 1965 (Vroom) or between 1947 and 1957 (Groenendijk and Vollaard). Ruys designed the cemetery for Nagele at some point during this period. Ruys assisted Gerrit Thomas Rietveld with the landscape design for the Tiextielfabriek de Ploeg (Bergeyk, Netherlands) from 1956 to 1957 (Groenendijk and Vollaard). She formed a firm with Hans Veldhoen which was commissioned to design the gardens for A. Bonnema's residence and office (Hardegarijp, Netherlands) in 1962 (Vroom). In addition, Ruys assisted the architect H. Salomonson with the design for the gardens for the Turmac Tobacco Company (Amsterdam, Netherlands) from 1964 to 1966 (Groenendijk and Vollaard).
