Serres, Olivia Wilmot (English painter, 1772-1834)
|
Note: Daughter of house painter Robert Wilmot and wife of watercolorist John Thomas Serres. After separation from her husband, she lived with artist George Field. Later in life she made a claim to be the natural daughter of the Duke of Cumberland, the king's brother; the claim was rejected by the House of Commons, although she used the title in her name and some modern scholars consider the question open.
