Note: Born 31 March 1782; died 12 June 1867. Student of Charles Percier and Pierre Fontaine. Won 2nd prize in the concours de Rome in 1806. Thieme-Becker and Macmillan indicate that Lebas was a teacher at the Ecole des beaux-arts in Paris from 1819 to 1867; Bellier gives 1840-1856. Member of the Institut de France (Académie des Beaux-Arts, Section d'Architecture) from 1825 to 1867. |
