Note: Hendrik Petrus Berlage is known as one of the most important renovators of Dutch architecture in the late 19th century. His architectural work emphasizes clarity and purity of the construction emerged. Unity and harmony of the overall design is a result of Berlage's involvement in not just the design of his buildings, but also involvement in the interior decoration. Buildings include De Nederlanden van 1845, Heymans House, Den Haag Municipal Museum, and the Amsterdam Commodoties Exchange (his most known work highlighting Rationalism style). |
