Fernique, Albert (French photographer, 1841-1898)
|
Note: In 1869, Fernique was a professor and head of graphic arts at the École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures, Paris. In 1870 he worked with Prudent René-Patrice Dagron (1819-1900) to establish a microphotography carrier pigion service in the French provinces. In 1872 Fernique founded and directed the "Etablissement de Reproductions Industrielles et de Photogravure" in Paris. He specialized in artistic reproductions, especially of the work of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux. Fernique photographed the École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures in 1875, and publised an album entitled "École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures". In 1888, Fernique's son Louis Albert joined him in business. He died 19 September 1898. |
